Riga Aviation Museum

Riga Aviation Museum

Riga Aviation Museum (Riga International Airport) – this museum was started by aviation students in 1965 (as an aviation club). In time, rare and unique samples of combat aircraft and helicopters were added to this site’s collection. The collapse of the Soviet Union adversely impacted upon this site, until the museum was reestablished in 1998. With all the MiG fighter planes, Antonov transport planes, and Hind helicopter found here, this is perhaps the largest collection of Soviet military aircraft outside of Russia itself. Hours: 9 am – 6 pm (Monday – Saturday).
