Jurmala City Museum (Tirgoņu 29, Jūrmala) — Since 2008 the museum offers a permanent exhibition “History of Riga Jūrmala and Ķemeri resorts”. The exhibit reflects significant milestones in development of Jūrmala, a resort city (located a short distance east of Riga), through photographs, documentary and household objects.
Another exhibition here — “Ships in depth” — tells the story of destinies of ships, warships and submarines significant for our country, as well as of Latvian navigation. Families with children can spend a nice afternoon in the museum café when throwing children’s and family parties. Families can celebrate these events not only with coffee and snacks, but also going on a treasure hunt on shipwrecks. Hours: 10 am – 5 pm (Wednesday – Sunday) (closed on Monday & Tuesday).
